The
Le Sabre concept from 1951 was a futuristic concept marketed
as 'an experimental laboratory on wheels'.
All the concept technology on the Le Sabre worked, and this
included a rain sensor which detected rain and then automaticaly
raised the roof and windows if the car was parked, built in
jacks for safe and simple wheel changes, and a wrap around windscreen.
The Buick Le Sabre concept was powered by a 335 bhp V8, and
the body was constructed from aluminium, magnesium and fibreglass.

review by Kurt Struckmeyer
The LeSabre concept vehicle was never badged as a Buick. Because
Buick later used the name for one of its models, this mistake
is commonly made. Design chief Harley Earl designed it in 1950
and it was first shown in June 1951.
