Jaguar Pirana

Jaguar Pirana

The Jaguar Pirana was one of the stars of the 1967 London Motor Show.

The concept was penned for the UK newspaper the Daily Telegraph (who at the time were sponsoring the motor show) by the Italian styling house of Bertone.

The Jaguar Pirana was a luxurious grand tourer which featured equipment like electric windows, air conditioning, conolly leather upholstery etc. Power for the Pirana came from a 4.2 litre Jaguar V8. The car itself was based on a Series 2 Jaguar E Type.

While the Jaguar Pirana itself was only a concept, and as such only one was made, in 1970 the Bertone-designed Lamborghini Espada appeared. Notice any similarites?
