Active
Noise Control
Active
noise control is also known as active noise reduction or noise
cancellation, a technique for monitoring engine noise within
the passenger compartment and counteracting that noise to
provide an ultra-quiet interior. ACN involves using speakers
to produce an out-of-phase signal to "cancel" the disturbance.
In general, ACN is most effective in small confined spaces
and when dealing with sounds over a limited frequency range.
