Ball Joint (Vehicle)

A ball joint is a flexible joint consisting of a ball in a socket. Ball joints, one or two of which are found at each front wheel on most cars, are used primarily in the front suspension because of their wide range of motion. A worn ball joint, sometimes signaled by a knocking sound, particularly when a vehicle is making sharp turns or driving over bumps, can be dangerous and should be replaced immediately.
