Bucket
seats are usually found in sports cars or off-road vehicles.
Bucket seats provide a high level of lateral (side) support
which holds the occupant firmly in place. Not the most luxurious
of seats, bucket seats do not usually have recline adjustment,
as they are made of one solid piece. When used in conjunction
with a safety harness bucket seats also provide a level of
protection for the occupant as they sit more 'in' the seat
than 'on' the seat.
