Castellated
Castellated
describes the design of a nut (castellated nut) which features
slots in the top resembling the parapet of a castle.
Castellated nuts are used in low torque applications and where
it is necessary to retain the nut using a pin or wire. The
castellated top of the nut is aligned with a small hole in
the shaft through which the pin or wire can be threaded.
