Cleaner-Burning Gasoline (CBG)

Cleaner-burning gasoline is fuel that meets requirements established by the California Air Resources Board (ARB) and certain other states in the US, such as Arizona. All gasoline sold in CBG-covered areas for use in motor vehicles must meet these requirements, which first came into effect in the mid-1990s. An example of a cleaner-burning gasoline is E85 (providing that the 15% of gasoline it contains qualifies as CBG).
