Combustion
Chamber
The
combustion chamber(s) is the enclosed space within the cylinder when the piston is at the upper limit of its travel. The combustion
chamber is formed by the top of the piston and the remaining
cavity in the cylinder head. Since most of the explosive combustion
the air-fuel mixture takes place in this space, its design
and shape have a great effect on the power, fuel efficiency,
and emissions of the engine.
