Composite
A
composite is a material formed by combining two or more materials
that differ in composition or form. Typically one of these
materials serves as an adhesive binder while the others possess
great strength. The most familiar composite is fiberglass,
which consists of thin glass fibers bonded together in a plastic
matrix. The structural properties of composites can be altered
by controlling the orientation and configuration of the high-strength
components.
