CV
Carburetor
While
CV (Constant Velocity) carburetors and conventional carburetors are both used for the same purpose, CV
carburetors differ in their design to conventional carburetors.
A CV carburetor has a funnel shaped tube (called a venturi)
through which air is drawn into the carburetor. Due to the
funnel shape, as the air is brought into the carburetor the
air pressure changes. At the narrow end is a vacuum which
sucks air into the carburetor at a constant rate - hence the
name. This differs from the pumping effect found in non-CV
carburetors.
