Disk Brake

A system of brakes in which a caliper forces a pair of brake pads against the disk (rotor) in each wheel in order to slow down or stop the vehicle. The disk or rotor is attached to the wheel and the non-moving caliper straddles this disk. When the brake pedal is depressed, pads within the caliper squeeze both sides of the disk to slow and stop the wheel.
