EuroAmerican
hybrid is the informal name for a car with European design
and American power. While American engines typically produce
less power per unit of displacement than European motors,
their sheer size, as well as their relatively unstressed design,
reliability, and ease and economy of repair, makes them obvious
candidates for use in European performance cars. The most
famous such hybrid is probably the AC Cobra, while other notables
include the Iso Grifo, Detomaso Pantera and Mangusta, Bizzarrini,
Monteverdi, GT40, and Facel Vega.
