Exhaust
Manifold

The exhaust manifold is the section of the exhaust system
which is directly attached to the engine and receives the
spent gases from the combustion chamber. Due the the proximity
of the exhaust manifold to the engine and the exposure to
the exhaust gases the exhaust manifold is one of the hottest
components of a vehicle. When working on or near the exhaust
manifold allow plenty of time for it to thoroughly cool before
touching it or a severe burn may occur.
