Firewall
A
vehicles firewall is the bulkhead separating the engine compartment
from the passenger compartment. It also helps to protect the occupants
in a collision as well as subdue the sound from the engine. The
firewall is not a solid bulkhead, many wires, hoses and airducts
pass through it, usually through small holes with rubber fixtures
protecting the wires from abrasion against the sharp metal holes.
