Flathead

The flathead was the first mass-produced V-8, introduced by Ford in 1932. It was used early on in models such as the Deuce Roadstar. The flathead utilized a valve-in-block design, and had a very distinctive look. It was replaced by the Ford Y-block engine in 1954.
