Four-Wheel Drive

Four-wheel drive (4WD) is a type of vehicle drive system in which power is supplied to all wheels equally. Four-wheel drive ensures minimal wheels slip and is highly effective for off-road and winter driving. It is commonly used on trucks and sport utility vehicles. Often when a four-wheel drive system is fitted into a car it is refered to as all-wheel-drive (AWD).
