Gap
(Spark Plug)
Different
vehicles require different spark plugs and all the different
types of spark plug require different gaps. The gap is the
distance between the two electrodes on a spark plug. Gap can be measured by a feeler
gauge and then either widened or narrowed until the correct
distance is achieved. An incorrect gap distance can make an
engine run poorly or in extreme circumstances the spark plug
can fail to create a spark therefore making combustion impossible.
