Gullwing Doors

Gullwing doors get there name from the nature of their opening which mimics the appearance of a sea gull's wings in flight. Gullwing doors are hinged at the top and swing upwards, in the open position they are supported by gas shocks to prevent them falling. The first car to use gullwing doors was the Mercedes 300SL Coupe. Other models with this feature include the DeLorean DMC-12, Brickin SV-1 and, most recently, the Ferrari Enzo. Not to be confused with scissor doors.
