Halogen
Light
A
halogen light is the standard type of bulb used in automobile
headlights. It consists of a glass bulb enclosing a single
or double tungsten wire filament and a gas mixture containing
halogens (mostly iodine or bromine). The presence of halogens
is to enable the filament to regenerate through chemical processes.
Halogen lights provide higher levels of illumination than
conventional bulbs yet last longer and use less energy.
