Hardtop
A
hardtop is a removable top, typically made of fiberglass though
sometimes of steel, which usually matches in color and style
the body of the car, and turns a convertible or roadster into a genuine coupé. A hardtop reduces aerodynamic drag and interior noise
and , and provides better protection against bad weather than
a softtop, with which it can often be interchanged. The term
“hardtop” is also applied to a vehicle with a fixed roof and
retracting window glass but no exposed B-pillar, meant to have the appearance of a convertible.
