A
hydraulic tappet is a tappet which is moved by hydraulic pressure from the engine's
lubrication system. Hyradulic tappets have the benefit of
providing constant full contact with both the camshaft and valve stem. Hydraulic tappets also reduce valve noise and
automatically adjust to variations in valve stem length.
