Piston
A piston is a solid cylindrical casting that moves up and
down inside a hollow cylinder in an engine or pump, being
driven by, or driving, the compressed air/fuel mixture. The
piston is fitted with rings to fit the cylinder snugly. In
the internal combustion engine it bears
a connecting rod to transmit the power to the crankshaft.
