A
projector headlight is a type of headlight in which a rear
facing bulb shines onto an elliptical reflector which, in
turn, focuses and projects the light back out of the headlight.
Projector headlights are usually found on European automobiles
since it is easy to adjust them from right side to left side
driving. This construction also provides a better light cut
off, meaning less stray light will shine into oncoming drivers'
eyes.
