A
sill protector, also called a sill plate, is a protective
and decorative panel which runs underneath the door. They
are only visible once the door is opened and they serve to
protect the bodywork from scuffs and scratches as people enter
and exit the vehicle. Sill protectors often state the make
or model of the vehicle as a decorative enhancement.
