Tie
Rod
A tie rod (also called a track rod) is a jointed rod that
links the steering gear to the wheels. The ends of the tie
rod must be free to move with the movement of the steering
system. Eventually the tie-rod ends show signs of wear and
the tie rod must then be replaced.
