In the Greek city of Athens the Acropolis hill is the most important
site in the city. Over the centuries it has been built on many
times and used as cult place or as a residential area or both.
Some of the most important monuments on the Acropolis are, the
Parthenon dedicated to the patron goddess of Athens, the Erechtheion
built in 420 BC, the temple of Athena Nike also built in 420
BC, and the Propylaea built 437-432 BC.
