Base jumping is different from other parachuting because it
involves jumping from a static 'base', this could be a tall
building, bridge, radio mast or natural land formation. It is
a more dangerous form of parachuting because there is less time
for the chute to open and landing zones can be in awkward places
requiring considerable skill to manouver and land safely. A
basejumper is usually a very experienced skydiver beforehand.
