Every year in the county of Glostershire, England at Cooper's
hill around 5,000 people from all over the world gather for
the cheese roll.
as mid-day approaches and the crowd begin to chant 'Roll the
cheese!' and the competitors run, tumble, roll and slide down
the hill after the cheese in 4 separate down-hill races. 'Young
Farmers' and rugby players act as 'catchers' for the runners
who are unable to stop. Every year there are a few casualties,
usualy twisted ankles, broken limbs and bumps and bruises. All
competitors know the dangers but still chase the cheese. |
