Take a trip over the waters of the Everglades on an air boat.
Spanning the southern tip of the Florida peninsula and most
of Florida Bay, the Everglades National Park is the only subtropical
preserve existing in North America.
The park is known for its diverse bird life, in particular large
wading birds such as the roseate spoonbill, wood stork, and
great blue heron. It is also unique in that it is home to both
alligators and crocodiles, as well as the endangered Florida
panther and West Indian manatee.
The most common form of water transport is by airboat. Primarily
because these flat bottomed boats easily slide over the dense
water vegitation without getting tangled in the weeds. |
