The megalithic ruin known as Stonehenge is located two miles
west of the town of Amesbury in southern England, it is a series
of structures constructed from earth, timber and stone and was
modified over a period of more than 1400 years. The stone from
which is constructed is spotted dolomite, quarried in south-west
wales 165 miles away. It has long been associated with the druids
of celtic England. |
