The Audi RS6 - in all its forms and generations - has never
been a vehicle lacking in raw power. However that doesn't stop
people from trying to up the performance to even more monstrous
levels. Sportec, a well respected Swiss tuning company, are
one of those who never cease in the search for more absurd levels
power.
Working with APS of Brackley - the UK importer for Sportec,
the company has developed two conversion programs for the 4F
(2nd generation) RS6.
The stage one conversion is an ECU (Electronic Control Unit)
upgrade. This single modification increases the Audi's power
to 650bhp (478kW) at 6300rpm. And raises the torque figure to
740Nm (540lb.ft) between 2500-4000rpm. This translates into
performance numbers of 4.4 seconds to 62 mph (100 km/h), and
an electronically limited top speed of 190 mph.
The stage two upgrade also features a reprogrammed ECU. However
it also includes the fitment of emissions compliant sports catalysts.
These two changes alone account for the 700 hp @ 6,200 rpm!
The torque numbers are equally impressive at 800Nm (584lb.ft)
between 3000-6200rpm. With the stage two conversion fitted,
the Sportec RS6 takes just 4.2 seconds to get to 62 mph. Top
speed is the same electronically limited 190 mph as the stage
one job.
