The Ferrari F430 Calavera is the first design concept created
by Unique Sportscars, a tuning company based in Nürnberg,
Germany.
The Calavera (Spanish for 'skull') was developed through a
collaboration between Unique Sportscars, Novitec Rosso and
airbrush artist Knud Tiroch who has created artwork for ZZ
Top, David Coulthard, Arnold Schwarznegger and many more.
The exterior design of the Ferrari F430 Calavera is characterized
by the graphic designs which are dotted around the bodywork.
The artwork is not going to be to everyone's taste but then
with only 11 examples scheduled to be built individuality
is almost guaranteed.
Aside from the graphics the F430 Calavera also features new
daytime running lights located below the front grilles and
new thin-spoke black colored 20" wheels. Like all other
body components the front spoiler was developed in the wind
tunnel. It is attached to the underside of the production
front apron. It lends the F430 an even more aggressive frontal
appearance and reduces lift on the front axle Agile, safe
handling is one of the strengths of the Novitec Rosso sport
suspension for the Ferrari, optimized everyday use the other.
Contrary to the production suspension the front can be raised
by 40 millimeters at the push of a button to safely navigate
past curbs, driveway entries and speed bumps. Once the car
reaches a speed of 80 km/h the suspension automatically lowers
itself back to normal position, about 35 millimeters lower
than the production car.
The interior of the F430 Calavera also features the same outrageous
style as the exterior. Graphics adorn the center console and
dash and the seats are trimmed in contrasting black and white
check squares and feature an embroidered skull logo on the
headrest.
Powering the Unique Sportscars Ferrari F430 Calavera is a
4.3 litre V8 with twin superchargers from Novitec Rosso. Power
output for the engine stands at 707 horsepower and 712 Nm
or torque. This drivetrain means the F430 Calavera can reach
60 mph in just 3.5 seconds and go on to hit 216 mph.
