The Gemballa Mirage GT Carbon Edition is based on the Porsche
Carrera GT.
Every element of the cars aerodynamic design has been optimised
in the wind tunnel. And, as the name suggests the main components
are formed from carbon fibre. The exterior body modifications
include a new front apron with larger intakes, new sideskirts,
and a new rear bumper with integrated diffuser.
The 5.7 litre V10 engine has been enhanced with the addition
of a revised engine management system and a full sports exhaust
system. This means the power output now stands at 670 horsepower
@ 8,000 rpm and torque at 630 Nm @ 5,700 rpm. As a result the
0-62 mph sprint takes just 3.7 seconds and the top speed is
208 mph.
The chassis of the Mirage GT Carbon Edition is specially adjusted
to compliment the improved engine performance. The suspension
setup consists of four individually adjustable coilover dampers
with progressively coiled double springs. For everyday use,
the electro-hydraulic height-adjustment is extremely useful.
By pushing a button in the passenger compartment, it is possible
to lift the body by 45 millimetres at the front- and rear axle
and therefore allows driving over obstacles such as underground
car park entrances and traffic ramps. Also by pushing a button
or by reaching 80 km/h, the vehicle lowers itself to its original
level.
The interior of the Gemballa Mirage GT Carbon Edition combines
luxurious and high-tech materials such as fine leather, ultra-suede
and carbon fibre in a stylish and subtle way. The center console
is entirely made of carbon fibre and contains the Gemballa Multimedia
unit and the Data Control System.
