German
tuning firm MTM (Motoren Technik Mayer) has a long and illustrious
history tuning various Audi products. In fact the company's
founder, Roland Mayer, even helped develop the turbocharged
five-cylinder engine of the legendary Sport Quattro which
was introduced in 1984.
Jump forward 25 and MTM have unveiled their latest performance
products for the turbocharged 5-cylinder engine of the Audi TT RS.
The MTM performance package for the TT RS is available in
three states of tune. Starting with 404 and 408 hp versions.
Rising to the top-spec model which produces 424 horsepower
and 550 Nm of torque.
In order to raise the TT RS' power output by up to 84 horsepower
MTM have made a couple of changes. These include a recalibrated
ECU, and a revised exhaust system which features new middle
and end pipes with throttle valves. An additional pre-pipe
with metal catalyser can also be added.
MTM have left the exterior design and style of the TT RS pretty
much intact. The only visible changes - aside from the multitude
of MTM stickers and badges - is an upgraded brake package,
lower and stiffer springs, and 19" or 20" wheels
with the original BIMOTO design.
