At
the 2006 New York Auto Show, Saleen introduced their limited
edition Parnelli Jones 302 Boss Ford Mustang. Saleen has given the Ford
Mustang an eye-catching orange paint job and the car comes
with removable static cling door graphics. Either the number
15 racing number from Parnelli's car, or the familiar blue
Ford oval.
The shaker hood with black stripe hides a 302 cid (5.0 litre)
V8 which develops 370 horsepower and 370 ft lbs of torque at
just 4,000 rpms. Saleen's modifications also allow the V8 to
rev higher than almost any other Mustang, modified or otherwise.
Form has won over function in that the rear quarter panel window
has been replaced with an air scoop/vent, and the rear window
is covered with a slatted panel.
Suspension and brakes have also been tweaked and the interior
has been given the same orange colored highlights as the exterior.
