The
Yamaha Phazer is powered by a 2 cylinder, 500 cc engine
which is based on the YZ250F engine. In fact it's basically
two of them engineered together. This results in a compact
and engine which generates its maximum power at over 11,000
rpm. Yamahas electric starter system makes starting
the Phazer a breeze.
The Yamaha Phazer uses a 14-inch wide Camoplast Rip Saw
track with 1-inch lugs. The track design is lighter than
a traditional 15-inch design for improved performance
and handling. It also allows the tunnel to be narrower
to contribute to the Phazers ergonomics.
The Yamaha Phazer is built on the FX chassis. It features
lightweight, rigid CF diecast member and chromoly tube
construction. The FX chassis was engineered specifically
to house the Genesis 80FI engine and incorporates that
engine package in its overall balance dynamic. The FX
chassis is also the backbone for the sport rider-forward
position on the Phazer.
