Mitsubishi has been flogging its MiEV range of electric
vehicles since 2006 - almost exclusively as concept vehicles,
like the EZ
MiEV and original i
MieV concept.
Now their concept's are turning to reality, and the 2011
i-MiEV is on its way to Europe. Previously the car was
only available inside Japan, but now the Euro-spec model
is here there's a good chance this little electric car
will go global some time in the future.
Compared with the Japanese model, the European-spec Mitsubishi
i-MiEV features redesigned front and rear bumpers which
comply with EU rules, a rearranged instrument panel, and
increased interior comfort.
Furthermore, safety - both active and passive - has been
improved with the addition of Active Stability Control
(ASC) as well as side and curtain airbags, all standard
equipment.
