Coupe Preview, 23rd October 2009

At the 2009 SEMA Auto Show, Rhys Millen Racing and Hyundai
will show off what they can do with one Hyundai
Genesis Coupe and one V8 engine.
Rhys Millen Racing (RMR) fabricated a Genesis Coupe chassis
to allow room for a mid-mounted, Hyundai-sourced V8 engine.
The 4.6 litre unit has been tweaked to produce 500 horsepower
thanks to a range of performance modifications including
eight individual throttle bodies, a set of JE pistons
that bumps the compression ratio to 11.0:1, and a new
engine management system.

Transmitting the power to the rear wheels is a Mendeola
five-speed sequential transmission geared to allow for
a 182 mph top speed.
"The RMR RM460 Genesis Coupe perfectly showcases
the rear-wheel drive platform of the vehicle as well as
the performance capabilities of the powerful Tau V8 engine,
available in the 2009 North American Car of the Year Genesis
sedan," said Michael Deitz, manager, Product
Planning, Hyundai Motor America. "Rhys Millen
Racing has taken the best of both worlds the Tau's
flexibility and the Coupe's tuner-friendly driving architecture
to create a hybrid powerhouse for this year's show."

Stylewise, the RMR RM460 Genesis Coupe will feature a
RMR Signature Edition bodykit, a carbon fiber spoiler
and custom carbon fiber rear hatch. Inside the car will
feature Sparco Chrono sports seats, Sparco Alcantara and
carbon fiber interior panels, and Infinity Kappa Perfect
Speakers and power amplifier.
