Peugeot’s competition is literally out of this world

Peugeot's 3008 space competition

Peugeot’s latest competition, designed to drum up publicity for its 3008 crossover MPV, has as its top prize a trip to the edge of space. Called the 3008 Space Odyssey, the competition will offer the winner the chance to blast off into space on board the Virgin Galactic space ship. Or if they’re not feeling adventurous they can opt for the £30,000 ($48,000) cash alternative.

There are two ways to enter the competition. Either you can visit a Peugeot dealer and take a 3008 out for a test drive. Or you can take part in their spot-the-3008s online game at spot3008.com. The game features a massive 360-degree panoramic shot of downtown London. Strategically placed amongst all the buildings, parks and roads are 20 hidden 3008s, positioned anywhere from roof tops to road level. Finding one Peugeot 3008 provides a single entry into the draw. locating five earns you 20 entries, and spotting all 20 cars gives you 100 chances to win. Because the gigantic image carries a vast amount of detail, clues to the locations will be ‘leaked’ online through various social media channels.

Morgan Lecoupeur, Director of Marketing for Peugeot UK, said of the competition: “Incredibly it is 50 years since Yuri Gagarin made that historic first trip into space, and who would have thought we at Peugeot would be giving someone the opportunity to follow in his footsteps. Whoever wins could become one of just a handful of Britons who have ever ventured there.”

Even if you aren’t playing to win, having a nosey through the hi-resolution image of London is a good way to kill five minutes!
