Kia Track’ster Concept

Kia Track'ster concept car

Kia today unveiled a sketch of their latest concept car, a vehicle which is based on the company’s Soul city car. The Kia Track’ster concept will make its world debut at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show next week. The idea behind the concept was to try and create a distinctly sporty looking version of the Soul.

The Kia Track’ster was developed at Kia’s Californian design studio, and the design team was led by Chief Designer Tom Kearns. The same team came up with the Soul’ster convertible concept, which is currently being considered for production.

The most notable differences between the Track’ster and its more sensible underpinnings are the lack of rear doors, a more aggressive front bumper, and huge wheels which just barely fit under the arches thanks to so a reduced ride height. Oh yeah, and Kia have fitted it with a 250 horsepower engine!

Unlike the Soul’ster, the Track’ster was developed with no intention to put it into production.
