The Audi Allroad Shooting Brake is a crossover concept which debuted at the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The concept is very much what you’d expect from Audi. Clean, sharp lines, but a slightly soulless character which has crept its way into some of their most recent designs. It’s also packing a couple of the company’s trademark technologies; namely a quattro all-wheel-drive system and an e-tron powertrain.
The concept measures in at 13.78 feet long – roughly 7 inches shorter than the Audi Q3, and rides on multi-spoke 19-inch wheels.
Powering the Audi Allroad Shooting Brake concept is a hybrid e-tron drivetrain which consists of two electric motors working alondside a 2.0 litre turbocharged four cylinder engine. Total output of the system is 408 horsepower, with the 0-62 mph (100 km/h) sprint all over in just 4.6 seconds, and the top speed coming in at an electronically limited 155 mph.
There’s some speculation that the Allroad Shooting Brake concept previews some of the design features of the next-generation TT. While other rumors suggest the vehicle provides the template for a two-door version of the Q1 – due to arrive in 2016. Until Audi makes clears that up, the internets will continue to debate.
