The TAG Heuer Monaco was launched in 1969 in honor of the Monaco Grand Prix.

The water-resistant square case - the first in watchmaking history - houses the Chronomatic, the world’s first automatic chronograph movement with a microrotor.

In 1970 Steve McQueen chose to wear a TAG Heuer Monaco in the film "Le Mans".
