The Aston Martin V12 Vantage RS concept was unveiled in
December 2007 at the official opening of Aston Martin's
new design center in Gaydon, Warwickshire, England.
The V12 Vantage RS is based on the V8 Vantage, but with
a 6.0 litre, 600 horsepower V12 shoehorned under the bonnet.
The V12 Vantage RS has also undergone a weight reduction
program which involves the creation of a carbon fibre
bonnet and boot lid and carbon ceramic brakes. All this
results in outstanding performance figures, 0-60 mph in
4.0 seconds and 0-100 mph in only 8.5 seconds.
Style-wise the Aston Martin V12 Vantage RS is almost identical
to the V8 Vantage, but with more aggressive design details.
The bonnet receives louvres which help cool the engine,
extra intakes at the front of the car cool the performance
brakes, and at the rear an electronic spoiler rises from
the body at speed.
The V12 Vantage RS is a concept car which is production
feasible, and if there is demand for the car Aston Martin
have declared that a small production run could be possible.
