First seen in a 1992 film produced to show Renaults advances
in digital imagery. The Renault Racoon concept was shown
at the 1993 Geneva Motor Show, and was introduced by a
rather optimistic Renault representative as, "a firm
proposal that could be tomorrow's freedom car".
The four-wheel drive Racoon had a watertight body which
could be lifted hydraulically for extra ground clearance.
The amphibious Renault Racoon could reach 5 knots on water,
powered by two waterjets running off the main engine.
