The original Ducati 900SS, which was replaced in 1998 with a
newer version, was a touring-orientated
sports bike based around an attractive, semi-exposed trellis
frame.
The chassis benefitted from a simple cantilever rear monoshock
and upside-down front forks. Power for the 900SS came from a
904 cc V-twin developing 80 horsepower @ 7000 rpm.
The Ducati 900SS used the same brakes as the 851.
