The MV Agusta F4 Senna was created by the President of MV Agusta, Claudio Castiglioni, to pay hommage to his close friend Ayrton Senna. All the profit from the sale of the 300 limited edition F4 Senna's was given to the Senna Foundation charity.

The MV Agusta F4 Senna was based around the chassis and engine of the MV Agusta F4 SPR, a highly specced version of the F4. Compared to the standard MV Agusta 750 F4 S, the Senna edition featured multiple carbon-fibre component, stronger pistons and a lighter crankshaft allowing the engine to rev harder.
