The
revival of the Norton motorcycle begins with this, the Commando
961 SS (Signature Series). The classic styling of the 961 SS
is influenced by past Norton design. However the 2006 Commando
961 SS comes fitted with thoroughly modern technology.
Carbon Fibre wheels reduce un-sprung weight; and 43mm, 3-way
adjustable Ohlins front forks, coupled with 4-way adjustable
'piggy back' rear shocks handle suspension. Brembo Gold Line
brakes provide stopping power.
The Norton Commando 961 SS features a chro-moly tubular steel
frame which has been configured for responsive handling as well
as being tested for performance and safety.
Peak torque for the Commando 961 SS is 65 ft lbs @ 5200 rpm.
