In creating the F3 Adrenaline TriRod Motorcycles set out to
produce a radical new vehicle that would offer exceptional performance.
In developing the F3 Adrenaline TriRod Motorcycles combined
advanced technologies from the Formula 1 racing, aerospace,
and motorcycle industries.
With a low center of gravity and a wide track, the F3 Adrenaline
is exceptionally stable. TriRod engineers chose the 2-1 layout
(2 wheels in front, 1 in back) over the traditional 1-2 trike
configuration for its superior handling, stability, and rollover
resistance. With the weight biased towards the front of the
vehicle in a 2-1 layout, the vehicle inherently understeers.
A traditional 1-2 layout tends to oversteer. TriRods are tuned
for neutral to slight understeer for aggressive but safe cornering.
In order to achieve maximum road holding performance, the TriRod
F3 Adrenaline was designed with a Formula 1 type front suspension
system. The double, unequal, non-parallel a-arms position the
outside tire for maximum traction, exceeding over 1g in corners.
Everything from roll center height to spindle offset was carefully
laid out in order to achieve optimal handling and feedback from
the road. Mating fully adjustable shocks to the a-arms through
a pullrod and rocker keeps unsprung weight to a minimum. This
allows the wheels to react faster to bumps in the road for more
precise control.
From the initial concept to the design and selection of materials,
TriRod engineers focused on creating an extremely light and
agile machine. The F3 Adrenaline model takes every component
to the extreme. Forged aluminum rims with 6061-T6 billet aluminum
shock bodies, rocker arms, and pull rods keep unsprung weight
to a minimum for maximum traction. Carbon fiber body panels
and fenders reduce weight while maintaining strength. Heat treated
chro-moly hubs are light and yet incredibly tough. 6061-T6 billet
aluminum brake calipers, foot controls, and hand controls are
small, light, and extremely strong.
The TriRod F3 Adrenaline’s styling is raw and minimalistic,
flowing from its mechanical underpinnings. Carbon fiber body
panels, fully adjustable racing shocks, and exposed suspension
components reinforce the aggressive nature of the trike.
