For
2006 Yamaha updated their FJR1300 sports tourer with new sharper
styling and a semi-auto gearbox. There is no clutch lever, instead,
mounted on the left handlebar, there are two buttons. Alternativley
there is also a normally placed foot lever either controls a
switch. Yamaha claims the change takes 0.1 - 0.2 seconds.
The 2006 FJR1300A/AS gets a new prominent and protective electric
windscreen which has slots underneath to balance the air pressure
in the cockpit. The screen height is adjustable as are the handelbars
and seat. ABS brakes come on both the A and AS models. The FJR1300AS
model has heated grips fitted as standard.
