The
Yamaha YZF-R6 is an acomplished 600 cc sport bike which was
first introduced in 1999. The original R6 was upgraded in 2001,
2003, 2006 and revised in the years in between.
The Yamaha YZF-R6 acted as a much needed replacement sports
bike for the YZF600R Thundercat, which was relegated to a touring
role on the the R6's introduction.
The engine of the R6 was an all-new inline four cylinder unit
which created around 120 horsepower. It was fed by a 'ram air'
style intake positioned between the headlights leading to the
airbox.
The twin spar aluminium frame of the Yamaha YZF-R6 is light
and rigid, and offers impeccable handling.
